The Skriker is the title character...Hi, Michael -

The Skriker is the title character of the play. She's an ancient faerie and is described as a death portent and a shapeshifter.

Skriker comes from English folklore, as well. I believe that the word "skriker" was used for the black dog, which would appear as a death omen and would also have a frightening howl.

I know that all these descriptions don't give the most positive connotation to the meaning of your name, but, if you like English folklore, than it would be very exciting to have your last name.RebeccaZhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15464629645834665372noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7735133.post-31932500536251482042010-05-11T10:29:31.958-05:002010-05-11T10:29:31.958-05:00Whats the meaning of the title of Churchills play&...Whats the meaning of the title of Churchills play"The Skriker."
My family name is Skriker. We are only one 'clan'from South Africa.
Dr Michael Skriker
drskriker@hotmail.comMichaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01222444305504353562noreply@blogger.com
